1 Sister region vote discussion! on Mon Feb 24, 2014 9:04 pm

here is the bill that is being revised:

Item one: the founder of any sister region must keep their main nation here and found said region with a puppet nation.

Item two: the founder of any sister region has executive power for one term.

Item three: any sister region must have a democratic process and cannot have a monarchy.

Item four: this is here for fun and wonders if someone will notice.

Item five: any founder of a sister region can not ask for recruiting help or any other help from the government of the INU or any other region.

Item six: the minimum for a regional government is 15 nations

gonmark has suggested that the sister regions might be able to have a constitutional monarchy, and now that i think of it, maybe they should be able to hold a vote on it once they have 15 (or what ever number we think of) and crumstain has suggested that a term should be 3 months.

now we discuss
let the political fist fight begin

From what I said before, maybe a term shall last until a certain amount of nations join the sister region. I would think a minimum of 5 to 10 ACTIVE nations should be required before elections are held.

Yeah so until there are say 8 members, elections cannot be held. Then 3 months sounds about right?
Loving item 4 Wink
Yeah I agree that once the region has reached a fairly big size 15/20 ot can decide what form a monarch /president etc should take.

An issue may come with a constant incumbent from people voting for the same person every time because they like them he most or no one else has run during that time. Perhaps some safeguard against repeat incumbency could be made like re-elections once every 3 months with no more than a 9 month consecutive term.

I agree with Rysothinor but again surely the region could decide its own max term length?

I would recommend sending one of us (the INUCA members) , to the sister region. We could leave our main nation here in the INU and use our puppet nation to help with the foundation of the sister region

In response to repeat incumbents, perhaps someone being re-elected constantly wouldn't be such a bad idea. If someone does a great job and everyone thinks so as well, that person should remain leader (perhaps through elections). However, if the people agree that the leader is doing a terrible job or is corrupt, an emergency election could be held with new candidates. The leader would then be unable to run of leadership again.

I agree with Crumstain but wouldn't banning someone from running for leadership seem a little too harsh ?

I'm not sure about emergency elections. How would you let the public decide if they were corrupt?

I agree l with New Kormania that one of us should have q puppet nation in each new region.

How about this.
A person in the government must get at least three nominations to be a candidate in an election. No nominations from other government authority's will be accepted

That work? So if a person is doing well, they will be elected, an if arnt, then no dice.

If I may butt in..

The decision is fully yours, but it will probably be best not to make any restrictions regarding the governments of new sister regions. Since the INU isn't necessarily any sort of "capital" region, the other regions should have the same democratic authority as does the INU. That means each of the sister regions should be able to design and implement their own regional governments; restrictions aren't all that necessary, because a region with a bad government won't be successful anyway.

I'd just try to focus on setting basic requirements for the sister regions to reach before the interregional elections are launched, such as a minimum population, agreeing to use the current (INU) plan for the interregional government, and so forth.

Shouldn't we have a revised proposal taking our recommendations into account before we vote?
