So I was wondering what the aim of this government is, what we're aiming towards now.

And on a side note will there be political parties?

Right now, we are simply trying to establish a basic government for the region so that a central authority is present and functional. If you'd like, you can read about each specific position right now; during the first governmental term, we will discuss and determine how we are going to implement some of our future plans (you can also read about those on the website). Such future plans include a defense organization and a regional congress.

Once the INU reaches 40+ nations, we will attempt to work with the IWU, the mother region, to form an interregional government. You don't have to worry about an oppressive government against your will; when we reach the point when we begin setting up that government, we'll be discussing the idea and most likely holding a vote on it to be sure everyone in the INU is willing to work toward the cause. The interregional government will have authority over the INU, ISU, IWU and IAU; it will be primarily for forming new laws that govern all the regions, but if the previously mentioned defense organization is contributed to by more than just the INU, it will also have the ability to order defense actions. As of now, the idea is mainly centered on just forming an interregional congress made up of representatives elected from each region; however, if people like the idea, we will organize it as a fully-fledged government, complete with an interregional president and such.

Now, lastly, about political parties. Political parties aren't any major concern right now; we never had them in the IWU, and the region has developed extremely well. However, if more people like the idea, we can try to organize something like that. It would be a little risky, because obviously political debates would arise, and it would result in something of a tension between the two or more parties, which would essentially divide the region. On the other hand, it makes the region very unique, and also provides a little more organization and motivation for the government to do its work to get credit for one's political party. This forum would be a great place to discuss the political parties. I'm planning on using this to talk about the ideas for interregional government and such.

If i may add my two cents into the discussion - I've participated in several communities with political parties and such and i have to say that it adds a lot of fun into participating in a region, we even had political coalitions and really amusing elections; So this is something I'd love to see happen somewhere down the line in the INU.

Yes, I agree it would be an exciting addition, and I've been giving considerable thought to it recently. If everyone thinks we should try it, we can; I would recommend, though, that we deal with that after we sort out everything else we currently have ahead of us.

I also believe it would be a brilliant idea to have political parties.

It seems like a fun way to bring up fun competition within the region.

Now if it gets out of hand, then we cool it down, but until then, just have a blast with it.

Absolutely, "fun" features should only be added after we have stably built up everything else first.

Yeah but political competition is integral to a stable democracy. Although I would say that if we are to have party's it should wait until the first proper election

@Iarphairc: Technically, we DID have a proper election already. But, anyhow, yes, if we can sort out everything timely, then we should be able to work with the idea of political parties by the second elections.
